Review: The Deceit of a Devil by Holly Renee

I could not wait for this book, I really wanted to know the conclusion to Allie and Carson’s story. They’ve been hot and cold their entire lives, in love with and pining for one another, even when as he treated her like trash. The first book in this duet, The Taste of An Enemy, ended on a cliffhanger so I’ve been waiting impatiently. Their relationship is so intense and all-consuming, I feared it would implode but there’s a HEA here.

He wanted to do better but didn’t know how and she wanted to hate him, to punish him, but she couldn’t. They’re like fire and ice but ultimately perfect together once they find their way. Carson made me so mad in the first book but he redeemed himself into book boyfriend territory in the second book. I love these characters and their story. It’s steamy, sweet and really intense and it’s worth every minute. This duet was my first time reading Holly Renee but it certainly won’t be the last.

I received an ARC from Social Butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review.

The Deceit of a Devil by Holly Renee

Sinless. Stunning. Damaged. Tempting. Allie Taylor had been the girl I hated for as long as I could remember.

And now she loathed me just as much.

It didn’t matter that I betrayed her to save her.

Completely devastated and infuriated by my dishonesty, she had no intentions of ever trusting me again.

Her trust was shattered, her hate raging on with each second. She would never look at me the same again.

Our past was full of pain and lies that could never be forgotten.

I knew what I did was irreparable, but I refused to let her walk away without another chance.

I should have left things in the past.

I didn’t.
I couldn’t.
I won’t.

I needed her. Even if it cost me everything.
