I loved everything about this book. Raina is a complete badass, going from DEA agent to mafia assassin without batting an eye, although not willingly. She’s spent her whole life on the side of law and order but she’s a bit too much of a loose cannon to make it in law enforcement. Before she has a chance to contemplate the implosion of her career, she finds herself backed into a corner with a new, unwanted responsibility: taking out a hitman for the Irish mafia, Connor Quinlan. Her life devolves into complete chaos when she finds herself being blackmailed by the Armenian mafia.
Raina’s spent her life wondering why her father abandoned them but isn’t prepared for the truth when she finally learns his identity. It’s just one shock after the next when she loses her career in an instant only to be immediately forced into the mafia world. And just when she thinks things can’t possibly get any worse, she finally puts eyes on her mark and realizes that she’s met Connor Quinlan before, she just didn’t know his name. He’s the hot stranger who gave her one life-changing night of heat, the one she can’t stop thinking about, the one she’s obsessed over ever since.
Connor is protective, bossy and just as obsessed with her. These two are absolute fire together. Their story is suspenseful and intense and steamy. I couldn’t put this book down. This series gets better with each book, and I can’t wait to see what comes next in this world.
