Review: Savage Promises by Deborah Garland

She’s the wrong bride but he’ll make her the perfect wife.

She was my secret obsession. My best friend’s younger sister. But with our families at each other’s throats, I turned my back on the only woman I ever cared about. And I regretted the loss of her fiery spirit every day of my life.

I learned to live with the pain and emptiness, vowing never to fall in love or marry another. But Lennox didn’t disappear. She was right there. Gorgeous. Successful. Ice cold. So close. But out of my reach.

Years later our world is very different. With so many enemies, Irish blood must stay pure. Putting chains on my wrists, to marry my worst enemy’s daughter. But not Lennox.

Her sister.

Now Lennox hates me all over again. But underneath I see profound sadness. The hidden desire for me she never let go of. And I’ll drag hell to my doorstep to marry the woman I want. Lennox was always mine. I will not let her slip through my fingers again.

Lennox has been in love with her brother’s best friend since they were kids, but Shane kept his distance, and she learned to live with it. Until he’s suddenly her sister’s betrothed. Neve doesn’t want him, she doesn’t want to marry anyone since she’s not even eighteen yet and has her whole life ahead of her. Lennox would give anything to be the one marrying Shane, but life is never that simple.

Shane has never wanted anyone or anything the way he’s wanted Lennox for as long as he can remember. But she’s his enemy’s daughter and he knows marrying for love isn’t in his future. As a Quinlan, he’ll marry for power and partnership between families, not because he falls in love. But marrying her sister is too much to ask, although he can’t say no.

Long the family caretaker, Lennox has been raising her baby sister since their mother’s death. She’s forced to plan Neve’s wedding to Shane by default, since her sister can’t be bothered while the attraction between them threatens to explode. This is a teasing slow burn and I was there for every minute of it. I loved everything about these two and their story and can’t get enough of this series. I’d like to thank the author and The Author Agency for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
