Oliver
I don’t usually trap women with amnesia into marriage.
But I guess there’s a first time for everything.
When the woman of my dreams falls into my lap, I can’t help but wonder what else she can do in that position.
She’s here. In my house. At my mercy.
And she thinks we’ve been lovers the entire decade we spent apart.
Briar and I have always been unfinished business.
Now it’s time to seal the deal.
Briar
I’m marrying a beautiful monster.
A crooked fraud. America’s wealthiest bachelor.
He claims we’re in love, yet all I taste in our kisses is hate and lust.
I don’t remember why or how.
But I do remember he’s the enemy.
Now, I’m stuck inside a nightmare.
And Oliver will do anything to keep me in the dark.
Authors’ Note: My Dark Prince is a standalone enemies-to-lovers Sleeping Beauty retelling, in which a damaged billionaire with a dark past and his childhood sweetheart fall in love—literally. It is set in the decadent Dark Prince Road universe.
The only way to begin is to admit that I’m completely obsessed with this story. I couldn’t put it down or read another book for a few days because it was so good, I was afraid anything else would be disappointing in comparison. LJ Shen has given us some of the most amazing couples, like Sparrow and Troy or Daria and Penn but Oliver and Briar may be my favorite couple of all. Their story is tumultuous, but the tragedy and emotion are perfectly balanced by the dark humor and tension between them. Briar knew it was dangerous for Oliver to be the center of her world, but she really had nobody else. He broke her heart in ways she never imagined possible, and she will never forgive him. But when fate throws him back into her life, Briar realizes that her heart doesn’t always agree with her head.
Oliver has many regrets and losing Briar is the most painful one of all. He sees this as a chance to pick up where they left off, if only he can get her to give him another chance. He is damaged and hurting but also determined to take his life back and start to actually live again, instead of just existing. Their story is epic, and I loved every minute of it.
