Running into your ex is never ideal.
Running into your ex who is now dating your nemesis is a literal nightmare.
That’s how I found myself in a sheer panic, reaching for the closest guy at the bar and kissing him. And to my delight he was easily the most attractive man I’ve ever seen.
The only problem is, when I tried to walk away after thanking him for his help, he stopped me with three life-changing words . . .“You owe me.”
That’s how I found myself, a college girl, in a fake relationship with a professional hockey player ten years older than me.
At first it was easy.
He helped me with my internship.
I helped keep his ex away from him.
We were becoming fast friends.
It wasn’t until he started staying the night at my dorm did the rules of our arrangement become complicated.
Now my feelings are involved and even though I kissed the right man at the right time, I’m worried he’s just waiting for the clock to run out.
We finally get Silas’ story and it’s everything I wanted. There was no doubt it he needed a strong heroine, someone tough and smart, so Ollie was a bit of a surprise being only 21. She tapped this complete stranger for help because he was the only lone man at the bar but Silas quickly realizes that a fake relationship might be just the buffer he needs with his horrible ex now working for the team. They propose a mutually beneficial arrangement and promise to keep it platonic, which should be easy enough. The ten-year age gap felt weird to both of them, but never more so than when Silas visited Ollie at her dorm.
Ollie is busy balancing a very competitive internship and her sleazy boss while battling a saboteur colleague who just happens to be dating Ollie’s overly-flirtatious ex. She has plenty on her plate so a platonic fake relationship sounds perfect. But the more time they spend together, the more the lines blur.
This book is laugh out loud funny, full of great one-liners and the best kind of banter. His friends, her BFF and even her nemesis make for a great supporting cast. We even get a love connection sub-plot for one of his still-single teammates. Ollie and Silas are sweet and steamy and hilarious, I loved everything about their book. received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This does sound like a lot of fun. I’m going to start with the first one. And would you look at that, it’s in KU. It’s a good thing my husband is making dinner tonight.
