ARC Review: All That Lies Between Us by Amanda Cuff

Happily engaged. Fulfilled by a lucrative career. Addison McCormick thought she had it all—until she caught her soon-to-be-husband cheating.

Forced to start anew, Addison decides a vacation is just what she needs to escape the wreckage of her life in LA, and serene Colorado is calling her name.

What she doesn’t expect to find is Chase Prescott: the sexy, brooding neighbor at the cabin she’s renting. She sees him as nothing more than a vacation boyfriend, a quick and dirty fling to help her get over her recent heartbreak.

But when that spontaneity leads to the surprise of her life, Addison discovers that Chase’s mysterious allure isn’t just a front, and that he has a secret that will change everything.

What happens when the fantasy they created crashes head-on with their harsh reality? Can Addison find her new place in a world she might not be welcomed?

Addison catches her fiancé cheating with the neighbor then her heartless father fires her when she breaks the engagement. It hurts but it also makes her realize she hasn’t been happy in a long time so it’s time to move on. She chooses a destination randomly for a trip with her best friend. It’s just a chance to step away from the shambles her life is in at home and take a deep breath. She didn’t anticipate meeting Chase, though.

Their vacation fling is hot but then he abruptly ends it without explanation and she heads home nursing a broken heart. Not long after she returns home, Addison gets a big surprise and returns to Colorado to deliver the news but she’s in for a much bigger shock. There are a lot of things Chase didn’t bother to tell her in the time they spent together and it quickly becomes clear he went out of his way to hide details of his life. Nothing could have prepared her for this.

I enjoyed Chase and Addison’s story very much, even though this is angstier than the stories I usually read. There’s a sad twist in this that I don’t love and had I known that, I might not have read it but it’s a good story and I’m glad I did. I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
