A week away for brother’s wedding was supposed to be a chance to unwind, not get tangled up with a bridesmaid…
I have an injury that could end my career— and unless I’m ready to hang up my skates and become a hockey has been, the only thing I should be focusing on is getting healthy and playing my next season.
Kimmy saunters into my life at the worst possible time, but when she proposes a “what happens in Vegas” type situation, I figured what could it hurt. Especially when we’re both on the same page—one week and then we go our separate ways… three hundred miles apart.
Before I know it, I’m all wrapped up in her—and not just her body. Her smiles. That wild, untamable hair. Her laughter. Confidence. Hell, she’s everything I’ve been looking for and I can’t keep my hands off her.
It was supposed to be a fling, but now I want more. Even if it means I’m in for the fight of my life. This might be my only shot… and I’m taking it.
We know Max from the other guy’s stories so I was looking forward to his story. He’s struggling right now because hockey is his life but after a rock-climbing accident, he has serious injuries that call into question his ability to keep playing. The idea of not playing hockey anymore is too much. Hockey is his everything so there’s no way he can let it go. He’s going to do whatever it takes to rehab and get back on the ice. He’s heading to an island paradise for his brother’s wedding so he plans to relax and forget about his problems for the week. Then Kim comes along and she’s exactly the distraction he needs.
Kim’s life is in LA and also revolves around her job. She’s worked her ass off to be a successful attorney and lives a high-stress life. A week of no-strings-attached pleasure sounds perfect for the both of them. But they both get more than they bargained for when they realize a lot can happen in just a week. With two demanding careers, is it even possible to make a long-distance relationship work? They’re not sure but they’re going to find out.
Max and Kim really bring the heat and I loved these two together. They’re funny and sweet and so good for each other. I really like these characters and enjoyed their story very much, but even though I adored Max, he couldn’t win me over completely. My heart still belongs to Dominick as my favorite of the series. I received an ARC from Valentine PR in exchange for an honest review.
