Review: Dark Knight by Tracy Lorraine

For years I’ve watched her.

Wanted her.

Craved her.

But I never, ever touched her…

Until that night.

When I caved and took what wasn’t mine to take.

The innocent girl I watched from the shadows grew into a tempting goddess who deserved better than my darkness.

One look. One touch. One mistake.

She didn’t just see me… she saw through me.

Revealing my identity was a price I wasn’t willing to pay.

But I was wrong.

She bought me with her touch.

I walked away once, and if I know what’s good for me, I’ll do it again.

But my best intentions are about to be obliterated…

When I find her in the one place she shouldn’t be.

Covering for her means risking the wrath of her family.

The longer I’m forced to keep this secret, the less I care about what it could cost me.

And you know what they say about bad behaviour?

The same thing as good deeds…

They shouldn’t go unpunished.

The hot-as-hades prequel from the Bully God anthology had me so excited for Callie’s and Batman’s story. Though she’s torn between two men at first, that doesn’t last for long. Despite her best efforts to choose a certain man, her heart only wants the other so the decision is out of her hands. Her dark knight is exactly who I wanted it to be, though. I’m definitely biased because I’ve always had a thing for Batman*, but these two are truly perfect for one another, they just don’t see the whole picture yet. It’s tough to say much without giving away critical information, like his identity so all I’ll say is this book was way too short and I need more.

These two aren’t quite as dark as the other couples but they may be the most at odds of them all. Besides struggling with her head and her heart over this mystery man, she has other issues to attend to. Callie is tired of being out of the loop and she’s beginning to resent her friends for keeping her at arms’ length, even though she knows it’s for her own protection. She’s no longer willing to be a good little girl who does what she’s told. Callie’s determined to come into her own and she knows that can’t happen if she doesn’t learn how to defend and protect herself. I can’t wait to see how she stands up for herself and makes her own way. This is the beginning of another amazing trilogy in this world and I absolutely love every minute of it. I received an ARC from Candi Kane PR in exchange for an honest review.

*Christian Bale is the only acceptable Bruce Wayne ever and everything that’s come after is a travesty
