Review: Greed by Eva Charles

He’s always been my dirty little secret. One of them, anyway.

Antonio Huntsman was the prince in every childhood daydream–or so I thought.
Now, I know better. He’s powerful and wealthy, but he’s no prince.
He’s a ruthless monster who thinks he can have everything he wants.
My vineyards.
My obedience.
My secrets.
Me.
He thinks I’ll marry him just because my father made a deathbed deal.
He thinks I’ll surrender to the temptation he offers so freely.
But I won’t play his games – regardless of how seductive he makes them.
I have too much to lose.

This story is one very wild ride and I couldn’t get enough of it. Waiting for the conclusion is going to be brutal because I was hooked on the first page and just got more invested with every chapter. The relationship here is complicated because Daniela spent her adolescence pining for Antonio but he’s older and she never really knew him. As an adult, he’s cruel and overbearing, living a dangerous life full of death. Her body wants him more than ever before but her mind wants nothing to do with him. No contact isn’t an option, since her father promised her to Antonio for a wife and gave him Daniela’s inheritance, the family vineyard, as part of the package.

She resents the control he exerts over her but resents him even more because she can’t resist him. Antonio knows there’s no room in his world for emotional attachments but he also knows he’s falling for her and there’s not a damn thing he can do to stop it. Daniela bides her time, being obedient and submissive while planning her escape, but there are men much more dangerous to her than Antonio and if she leaves him, she could be playing right into their hands.

This story is amazing. I loved Daniela right away and though it took a bit longer to warm up to Antonio, I like him a lot, even if he is a ruthless bastard. Their story is gripping and I couldn’t put it down so I have no idea how I’m going to wait for the next book. It ended with some major cliffhangers and although I think I know what’s coming in some respects, I know there will be more surprises coming. I received an ARC from Social Butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review.
