Review: Fired Up by KK Allen

Through smoke and fire, she’s all I see.

Nothing gives me a bigger rush than when I’m responding to an emergency call.
As a firefighter EMT, my mission has always been clear.
Until I arrive at the scene of an accident and a dark-haired vixen, quite literally, trips into my life.
I quickly learn there’s more to the gorgeous photographer than meets the eye.

Meadow Matthews isn’t a woman who needs saving, but she just might save me.
As a single mom to an adorable little boy, she leaves little time for play.
Which is why, when I approach her with a fun opportunity, she instantly declines.
Unfortunately, snapping photos of greased-up firefighters for a calendar isn’t her thing.

Lucky for us, she fires me up just enough to convince her otherwise.

I didn’t think any couple in this series would be as perfect as Larsen and Dane but Meadow and Asher are just as good. They’re both hesitant to get involved because they’ve both suffered for love but the attraction between them is too strong to fight, even if life is already complicated in so many ways. Meadow’s a widowed single mom who just moved across the country to be near her own mom. Asher’s a sexy first responder who’s been burned by his ex too many times to count. Together, they’re a sweet, sexy power couple raising money for charity and falling in love.

Asher and Meadow’s story is smoking hot but still romantic and fun. I love the banter between them and the dynamic of the friend group adds to the fun. The one distraction here is that the toddler’s speech is written phonetically and just, why? It’s weird. But I loved everything else, especially Meadow and Asher themselves. This is a fantastic series and I’m excited to see what’s in store for Beck in the final installment (which comes out next week, yay!). I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
