Review: Scoring the Pucking Goal by Tracy Lorraine

Cole Hansley.
Hockey god.
My new boss.

I told myself I would play it safe this time… no risky shots, no heartbreak rebounds.

But working as a personal chef for the LA Vipers’ star goalie comes with one problem.
Well, technically two.

His notorious reputation.
And my crush.

He needs someone he can count on. I need someone who won’t break me.

I’ve already lived through being second to a man’s career, and I refuse to do it again.

I don’t want fame.
I don’t want the spotlight.
I just want peace.

But Cole isn’t peaceful.
He’s all walls and warning signs—cold, distant, impossible to figure out.
And somehow, I still find myself wanting to slip past his lines of defense and find out
what’s underneath the armor.

Will he let me in, or will I get shut out like everything else in his life?

Freya is still trying to recover from a broken heart but her amazing new job is just the thing she needs to jumpstart her new plan. Cooking makes her happy and handling the personalized diet of the Vipers star tendy, Cole Hansley, is a dream come true for the aspiring chef. Freya is anxious and a tad high-strung but Cole is a big teddy bear who goes out of his way to put her at ease. They quickly become friends but her feelings for her new boss are starting to concern Freya. After all, she can’t fall for her boss.

Cole has always been a loner, initially not by choice but now it’s just habit. He had no idea that he was lonely until Freya came into his life. It’s not long into their blossoming friendship when he becomes obsessed, pulling her into every aspect of his formerly solitary life.]

I’ve loved each book in this series more than the last and Freya and Cole’s story is no exception. They’re both so sweet and vulnerable and adorable together. I loved everything about their story and couldn’t put this one down. Now I’m just trying to figure out who’s next: Rhett, Monroe or Killer? I’d like to thank the author for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
