I’m fake dating the boss of the Zarkov Bratva—what could possibly go wrong?
Lev Zarkov is a real-life monster.
No, correction, he’s actually the devil.
Except, when I first meet him, he’s simply the mysterious, handsome man traveling next to me on a first-class flight to New York.
And after being dumped at the altar by my loser fiancé who vanished into thin air the morning of our wedding, when things get flirty between me and the mysterious stranger, I think, why not?
Surely, I deserve one night to forget. I mean, where’s the harm in a little indulgence, right?
I’ll tell you exactly where the harm is. It turns out my one-night stand is not only the pakhan of the Zarkov Bratva, but he’s also a billionaire who is used to getting what he wants… and what he wants is me with his ring on my finger.
I’m to appear in public as his fake fiancée, and in return, my loser ex will get to keep his brains inside his head.
Every instinct tells me I don’t want to do this.
But Lev Zarkov can be very persuasive…
Bratva Lullaby is book one in the Zarkov Bratva duet. Brooke and Lev’s story concludes in book two, Midnight Poison.
Brooke’s fiancé stands her up on their wedding day but though she’s hurt and angry, there is also relief. She takes a honeymoon for one to come to terms with this new normal, which turns out to be one of the best decisions she’s ever made when she meets a handsome stranger who gives her the best night of her life. The last thing she wants to do is slip away as he sleeps but her life is in turmoil and there’s no place in it for a new man.
She now knows she dodged a bullet by not marrying her lying, cheating fiancé and if there was any doubt in her mind, it vanishes when he uses her as collateral. The man is blackmailing – well, trying to blackmail – the bratva but he’s doing a terrible job at it. Brooke sees this for herself when he breaks into her apartment and demands her engagement ring so he can sell it to disappear. He’s not just a thief though, but careless too, and he led a dangerous man right to his defenseless ex’s home.
Brooke is shocked at this turn of events, but even more stunned to realize the one-night stand she vanished from wasn’t some gorgeous stranger she’ll never see again. He’s the head of the Zarkov bratva and he knew who she was all along. Lev demands Brooke as collateral while her ex retrieves the blackmail evidence and moves her to New York as his fake fiancée. I loved their story although I wasn’t happy with the cliffhanger, but luckily for me the second book was already available, so I didn’t have to wait. My review of Midnight Poisons, the conclusion of Brooke and Lev’s story, will post next week.
