I prayed for a miracle for my daughter, but God sent me the devil in a three-piece suit instead. His price My body, my soul and ultimately my heart.
My little girl has a life-threatening heart condition, and I’d like to think I’d do anything to save her.
Anything at all.
But it’s not until the most lucrative, shameful opportunity falls into my lap that I learn just how far I’ll go to protect her.
The opportunity? A “full-service” executive assistant role through the discreet agency Seraph, putting my body and my soul at the mercy of a ruthless billionaire who has a reputation for eating women like me for breakfast:
Brendan Sullivan.
He’s disarmingly handsome, disgustingly wealthy, and disturbingly depraved. The things he has me do are beyond sinful, and I’m way out of my depth.
He can never know that I’m just a desperate, duplicitous single mother and not the professional sexpot he thinks he’s hired.
He can never know just how terrified I am every time he and his debauched friends lay their hands on me.
And he can definitely never know that, the more he corrupts me, the more he affects me.
I’m falling hard. Against all odds, this role seems less like a means to an end and more like a glimpse of the Happy Ever After I know he and I can never have.
Marlowe is a struggling single mom with a very sick child, so no price is too high to secure money for treatment. She will do anything to save her daughter and the urgency increases every day, so Marlowe jumps at the chance to join Seraph, the upscale escort service providing powerful men with executive assistants who fulfill their every need. She’s uncomfortable of course, since she’s never done sex work, but her new boss is her BFF’s brother-in-law so she knows she’s safe. It certainly doesn’t hurt that Brendan is the most beautiful man she’s ever laid eyes on, so the sex isn’t exactly a hardship, to her shock.
Brendan Sullivan is the aloof CEO of the family business, an island of a man who lets no one in and appears to be devoid of feelings. In his defense, his ADHD makes life difficult in so many ways, he doesn’t have the energy to devote to relationships and emotions, even if he wanted those things. Luckily for Brendan, he doesn’t want them, so his life is just fine. Until he meets Marlowe. It was lust at first sight and he couldn’t get her out of his head, so when his sister-in-law approaches him with a request to hire Marlowe through Seraph, Brendan can’t believe his luck.
Neither of them was prepared for the insane chemistry or instant connection arcing between them, and they’re both determined to fight it. Marlowe has her hands full caring for her delicate little girl, yet Brendan doesn’t even know she’s a mom. The most important thing in her entire world is a secret that would cost her the job that will save her child’s life. I loved these characters and everything about their story. It’s an emotional rollercoaster in the best possible way. This is the second book in the Seraph series but I’ll definitely be starting at the beginning because I loved every minute of this book.
