When the box of secrets is opened, no one is left the same.
Sierra
I thought I knew who I was, until I accidentally discovered my adoring parents’ biggest secret on my twenty-fifth birthday. I am adopted. Part of me is missing, and I set out to find it. Trying to figure out the past piece by piece, I bought a little fixer-upper in the small town I was given up in. Old lies will come out. Secrets that everyone is trying to keep buried. Who am I really?
Caleb
When I needed a clean slate, I moved to Montgavin to start my own construction firm. Slowly, I built my crew after my success with the bakery renovation. When the newcomer in town wants to restore her house to its former glory, I trust no one but myself.
Sierra looks lost, slowly putting her life together, with her dedicated room complete with a whiteboard. Something calls to me to protect her and her secrets. Someone wants her out of the town. But now they have to get through me.
Sierra’s life is upended on her twenty-fifth birthday when she’s shocked to learn she’s adopted. She’s even more stunned to know it wasn’t just a typical adoption: she was abandoned outside of a firehouse. Despite having amazing parents, Sierra yearns to learn more about where she came from and why she was left on a doorstep. Determined to learn her roots and find answers, she buys a home in Montgavin, where her mystery began.
The house is a real fixer-upper, so the first order of business is hiring a contractor to make it habitable quickly. She wasn’t expecting the most delicious man she’s ever seen and decides to resist him, but Caleb makes that impossible. He was just showing up on a new jobsite, like any other day, but everything changed the moment he laid eyes on Sierra. It scares him how quickly he became obsessed with this woman, but he knows she belongs in his life.
Their story is a wild ride with some twists and surprises to keep you guessing. It’s sweet and steamy with the perfect blend of suspense and mystery. This is a great ending to a favorite series and the bonus second epilogue available wraps things up nicely for all the characters. I’d like to thank the author and The Author Agency for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
