Mini Reviews

When I really like a book, I usually post a review on retail sites and Goodreads. Reviews are critical for authors and often help me decide what to read next, so I appreciate them as a reader, too. But I read a lot of books, too many to review them all and when things are really hectic, I’ve got to keep it short. Rolé over at Hooked By That Book inspired me with her Quickie Reviews feature, so I present more mini reviews.

This is a sweet and steamy story with one hot, bossy boss and the woman who steals his heart. I love the Reynolds family and Georgia is my favorite, but I also like her story best of the series.

Maddox goes through assistants fast, but Georgia is determined to be the one who lasts. They both get more than they bargained for when the attraction between them can no longer be ignored.

Cottonwood Cove book 2

Georgia stole my heart immediately, while Sebastian took a bit of warming up to, but I loved everything about their story. Near the end, there was a lot of drama and that kind of sent this story off the rails. I was adoring it up to that point, but the drama was so tedious, it cost this book two whole stars. That seems harsh but it dragged out for far too long then the ending felt rushed and incomplete.

Phoebe and Alexander’s story was amazing, right up until the third-act breakup drama that dragged on for far too long. The ending was solid, but there were more fun ways to get there.

When Laura learned she was pregnant, she forced herself to leave her abusive ex to give her baby a better life. Having grown up with an abusive father herself, she would never subject her child to that fate. Her brother offers her a job at the company he owns with his bestie.

Cade does his best to ignore his feelings for his best friend’s little sister, but she’s in danger and he’s determined to protect her. There were no surprises here, but the characters were likable, and the mystery is fun, although predictable.
