Review: Not Your Biggest Fan by Sara Ney

Harlow James is destined to rock the dating world. The creator of Kissmet, the app helping singles find love, she’s in New York to secure advertisers. But the sassy, small-town girl can’t help meddling in other people’s business.

When she runs into a muscular stranger at her go-to food truck, Harlow doesn’t realize he’s Landon “Andy” Burke, the NFL’s most-wanted free agent, in town to talk contracts. She just sees a hottie about to get burned by undercooked street food. Though she tries to warn him, he shrugs her off, making a little wager instead.

In a messy twist of fate, Andy finds himself in the same hotel as Harlow. When she collects on their bet, they make a mind-blowing—and bed-rocking—connection. But after the weekend, she goes home to Green Bay to her goofy dad and corgi, ready to focus everything on work again. Kissmet, however, has other ideas, when Andy knocks on her door…

Harlow tries to stop a cocky stranger from making a mistake at a food truck, but he dismisses her concerns. Luckily for her, they’re staying at the same hotel, so she has the satisfaction of watching him regret his choices, although she’s too sweet to say ‘I told you so’. Andy’s shocked that the beautiful stranger is in his hotel, so he takes his chances and sends her a message. Their fun evening turns into a hot night of passion before they both leave New York but he’s not ready to let her go.

I loved these characters, they were just so real and normal, which is rare in books. The dialogue is great, tons of banter filled with sarcasm and teasing, which is my language and the way I communicate with the people closest to me. Their story is light and sweet, with plenty of humor and lots of steam. I loved everything about it and though this is my first book by the author, it definitely won’t be the last. Some readers complained that the FMC called her city a small town and I don’t understand the criticism. I’m from Pittsburgh, a city with a small town feel that is three times the size of Green Bay! – I don’t understand why anyone would reject that label. I think it’s a high compliment. I’d like to thank the author and The Author Agency for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
