Review: Alpha’s Claim by Renee Rose + Lee Savino

My bear is wild. Totally uncivilized. Savage.

I’m not the nice bear. That’s my twin, Teddy.

I keep my bear caged.
Until I meet Paloma and my bear goes wild.
She’s beautiful and talented, but something’s rotten in this mansion in the Hamptons.

Her foster father keeps her locked in a tower, surrounded by guards.
There are whispers of an auction–a virgin auction.
My bear’s about to break free and go on a rampage.
But I can’t let him out.

Even if I can save Paloma, I can never claim her.
Not even when she smells like wild orchids,
Not even when she feels like freedom,
Not when she is my future, and my fated mate.

Paloma has been a prisoner for years since her parents died and she was taken in by someone who was supposed to be their friend. She’s a psychic with a knack for stock trading and can tell whether a company will succeed or fail. She’s been forced to work to make her guardian and his cronies even more wealthy, a prisoner in her home with no freedom. She hasn’t been allowed to attend college and can’t even move about the house on her own but there’s no escape because her captor has too much leverage.

Paloma is sick and his money pays the physicians who’ve created the proprietary drug that keeps her alive, plus he also has her sister at a boarding school where she has no contact with the outside world and if Paloma was ever to get away, her little sister would pay with her life. Despite her sad existence, Paloma refuses to give up and attempts to escape again, only to be dragged back into his clutches.

There’s an instant attraction when she meets Darius, but she hates herself for wanting him. After all, he’s just another one of the creeps here to bid on her at auction. Or is he? Darius attended this event strictly for the networking and to meet new investors but something about the situation sets off alarms. He’s captivated by the host’s beautiful daughter but the tight security surrounding her at all times is cornering. His bear wants to protect and claim Paloma, but Darius doesn’t let his bear have any control. He’s fought for years to keep his bear from making an appearance but everything about this woman makes his control slip.

I loved these characters from the first page and couldn’t get enough of their story. It’s full of heat and suspense and hot bear shifters, what more do you need? This is a great start to a new series and I can’t wait for more. I’d like to thank the authors and Literally Yours PR for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
