Drew Marshall is the epitome of a walking nightmare.
Deranged. Psychotic. Immoral.
After breaking my heart and publicly humiliating me, I vow to forget his existence.
He has other plans, though, and vows to make certain I don’t.
The only one I can turn to for help is a man I thought to be my enemy.
Drew’s best friend Sebastian who claims to be my brother.
He promises me security and protection. But no one can protect me from Drew.
The faster I run, the more he chases.
The harder I struggle, the tighter his grip becomes.
My enemy. My stalker. My villain.
It’s wrong, but I can’t stop myself from craving his rough touch, filthy words, and the dark promise of pleasure he gives me. They say the truth will set you free, but ours didn’t do that. It locked us inside the cage and tossed away the key.
**This is book 2 in the Oakmount Elite series and is NOT a standalone. This must be read after The Wallflower.
The conclusion to Bel + Drew’s story was even better than the first book. He’s still struggling because he knows he isn’t good enough + Bel deserves better, but he can’t bear the thought of living without her. There’s still a lot of friction between Sebastian + Drew, but Bel + her brother already have a promising relationship. They definitely have each other’s backs so the guys fighting stresses Bel out, especially since she’s so angry at Drew, she doesn’t even want to look at him.
Bel has only gotten better since the first book. She’s no longer a wallflower; Now she’s confident, independent + stronger than she’s ever been before. Sebastian seems to be getting crushed by the weight of his responsibilities as head of the Arturo family, but I have no doubt Bel will step up to help so I’m really curious to see where they are in Sebastian’s story.
Drew definitely started to redeem himself in the first book + he continued here, although he did hit a few bumps. He got the best ending of anyone in this book + it was exactly what I wanted for them. This is such a dark story in every way, but the ending was sweet + absolutely perfect. I’d like to thank the author and Candi Kane PR for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
