Rule #2 of Wall Street: Never show weakness
An alpha must protect his pack. Weakness isn’t an option.
Neither is the beautiful human who turned my world upside down.
But she is my obsession, I won’t let her go.
I’m feral with the need to possess her. To consume her.
Mating a human would destroy everything I’ve fought for:
My business, my pack, my family.
But I can’t resist this forbidden attraction.
And if I don’t claim her soon, I’ll succumb to moon madness–
a fate worse than death.
I loved the first book but somehow missed that it was book one of a trilogy, so that cliffhanger was exceptionally brutal. This picks up right where we left off and I was pulled back into the story immediately, like I read it yesterday. The characters are amazing, the story is fast-paced and fun, plus we get plenty of steam and hot shifters. This book is close to perfect except for another cliffhanger.
Writing this review has been a real struggle because anything I want to say feels like a spoiler but I will say that I don’t like Billy. If Brick’s executives are getting books of their own, I can’t imagine how the authors will redeem him. The guys want Brick to get rid of the human, but he can’t do it. Besides the fact that his wolf is determined to claim her, she is the best assistant he’s ever had and he won’t sacrifice that for anything, not even the pack.
His plan is to keep things professional and keep his distance, but will they be able to resist? Madi’s head is spinning from all the mixed signals he’s throwing at her as he keeps going from hot to cold and back again but they have bigger problems they haven’t even realized yet, namely whatever the Adelwulfs have up their sleeve. This story is addictive and I can’t wait to see how it ends. I’d like to thank the authors and Literally Yours PR for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
