I’M THE ALPHA OF WOLF RIDGE HIGH.
SHE’S THE HUMAN WHO CAN DESTROY ME.
Nobody knows my secret, the secret that must be kept for me to mate.
I’ve hidden my condition…
until she showed up.
The delicious-scented human who drives my wolf insane.
Being near her makes it a hundred times worse… but I can’t resist.
I stalk her at school.
At home.
In bed.
If I don’t master her soon, my control will snap.
But if I don’t leave her alone… I’ll lose everything.
Lauren moved with her twin and their father after losing her mom. They left behind their high-end life in New York, relocating to their vacation home in the Arizona desert in the hopes of feeling closer to her mom, but it’s not working. Lauren hasn’t felt a single thing since losing her mother. She’s just numb now and it’s worse than the pain in some ways. The students of Wolf Ridge High see Lauren and Lincoln as stuck-up rich kids who think they’re better than everyone else, but they’re just grieving teens oblivious to the world around them.
Abe is an alpha in every way: as a wolf, as the school’s star quarterback and one of the most popular guys in school. Anyone would envy him, but he’s got a dark secret and if it gets out, it will change everything. He and Lauren butt heads at first, but once they actually start paying attention to each other, things change. Abe doesn’t understand why he’s so obsessed with the beautiful human, but he can’t stay away, even though an alpha can’t mate a human. He needs to mate another alpha in the hopes of ridding their family line of the defect.
The characters are so real, their pain is palpable, and the banter is hot. Once they start spending time together, they quickly realize this isn’t just physical attraction and they know they shouldn’t act on it but can’t help themselves. I really loved this story. The characters are great, and their story is emotional but also funny and steamy at times. I adore this series, and this is probably my favorite so I can’t recommend it enough.
