I inherited Las Vegas.
It’s mine even if I never wanted it.
I may be the Don of the Camorra but every leader needs a Consigliere, and the only one I want belongs to the New York Sicilian Mafia.
Aurora Valentini hasn’t spoken to me in a decade and I’m tired of waiting.
It’s time to claim what’s mine.
Whether she’s ready or not.
I loved Aurora in the Oath duet and was hoping to get her story so I couldn’t wait for this one. It’s clear even from the bit part she plays in Luciu’s story that Aurora is one badass woman making a name for herself in the world. But her life is even more intense than I ever imagined. It’s obvious she’d be struggling to some extent as a woman consigliere because the American mafia is a total sausage party so she’s running things quietly, behind the scenes, while seeking a husband to be the face of her power.
Rory has always been half in love with Hunter and she’s known him her whole life. The new Don of the Camorra is the one man she’s wanted more than anything but he’s far too sweet and soft to be everything she needs. Or is he? There’s a lot more to Hunter De Laurentiis than what you see, and Rory is finally beginning to realize it after all these years.
These two are incredible together in every way. The heat between them is off the charts and while BDSM normally bores me to death, their story is fascinating. There’s plenty of suspense and a lot more Stan, as Luciu and Jen honeymoon in Sicily and it’s just a gripping story. I didn’t want to put this book down and the cliffhanger here is absolutely brutal — Moreso since the August 25th release date for the conclusion has been pushed back a whole month. It’s going to be a long month before the second book is out and I can’t wait to see what’s next for Hunter and Rory. I received an ARC from Valentine PR in exchange for an honest review.
