This was a stupid plan …
… but my folks will lose their dream house if I don’t pay them back the money they lent me.
I might have had a chance if I had gotten the dream job I’d interned for. Then my roommates threatened to move out, and I got fired from my backup job.
Everything I’ve worked for is screwed, and I’m going to ruin my parents’ dream. So I took the deal, and pretended to be his fake fiancee. Now I’m living a lie — many lies.
The third lie is the most troublesome because the only thing that could make my wrecked life worse is falling for a a man like Damien Bronson. I’ve made that mistake before, and I won’t make it again. I’ve learned my lesson, right?
This is the story of Mackenzie, a talented singer, songwriter and musician who’s walked away from performing to get a responsible adult job. She’s made the ultimate sacrifice but it’s not exactly paying off since everything keeps going wrong through no fault of her own. Her plight is relatable and pulled me right in but Damian was a welcome savior. He truly wants to help but he can’t see how demeaning it might be for her to accept it.
These two are fun together and I love their story. They’re funny and steamy with a sweet HEA. I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
