Ever hear the kid song, Jack and Isabeau sitting in a tree K I S S I N G?
Well, she met me when I was up in a tree, but kissing her has never been an option.
She isn’t the kind to fall for a daredevil.
And I’m a Formula One race car driver.
Adrenaline Junkie is my middle name.
Taking risks and tossing my fate to the wind is what I do.
Being her friend is no longer enough.
Can I find a way to hold onto her, when we are so intrinsically different?
Beau and Jack have been best friends for yours and they both wrongly believe their love is unrequited. He’s an adrenaline junkie who isn’t satisfied to race cars for a living and insists on taking crazy chances, even living through a crash that killed a teammate. She loves him but can’t stand his behavior on the track any longer. They used to do everything together and she even toured the circuit with him but the stress of watching him risk everything for a trophy got to be too much. Her fears and his refusal to change have put a distance between them that isn’t just physical.
One fateful night they finally have a long overdue heart-to-heart discussion and put their hearts on the line. It’s adorable and sweet, but keeps getting interrupted by well-meaning friends and family. The supporting cast is large fantastic and adds a lot of laughs. I love the snarky banter between these two and that they can be completely honest with each other. Their story is laugh out loud funny at times and a steamy romance at others and I loved every minute of it. I received an ARC from Social Butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review.
