Review: Washed Up by Kandi Steiner

It was just another day in the Emergency Department — until she was wheeled in through the doors.

Amanda Parks, my childhood best friend’s mom who I may or may not have secretly kissed before leaving for college.

I haven’t seen her in over a decade, and in so many ways, she hasn’t changed.

Same killer curves.
Same hypnotizing eyes.
Same reaction from my heart when I see her.

But something new?
There isn’t a ring on her finger anymore…
And I’m much more of a man than I was at eighteen.

Washed Up is a stand-alone age gap medical romance in the Bayside Heroes series!

This is forbidden love, age gap with a friend’s mom so not my usual but it’s a sweet and funny read. Amanda got pregnant at fifteen and stayed with her abusive alcoholic ex for way too long but she’s finally free of him. Starting over at 47 isn’t easy but she’s on her own for the first time and getting a degree, so she’s got a plan and is making it happen. Until a car accident requires emergency surgery and she meets up with hottie doc Greg, who used to be her son’s best friend.

The actual age gap isn’t exactly extreme but when you look at their life stages, you see a grandmother and a hot single guy, so that kind of puts things in perspective. Greg has loved Amanda since he was eighteen, but never thought he’d have a chance with her. They’re just friends at first because Amanda really needs a friend but the pull between them is irresistible. Their chemistry is hot and they mesh so well despite their differences, but Amanda’s son feels betrayed by their relationship. This is a sweet story of people finding each other despite tons of obstacles in the way and it will warm your heart. I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
