Jack Atherton: Falling For Miami
Falling For Miami by Jack Atherton

THE ULTIMATE TWO-SHOT

What do you do when you fall for your sister’s old boyfriend? Lizzie Lomax, the newest reporter for WTAN, Miami, can’t find the handbook on how to handle the situation. To complicate things even further, her sister, a network superstar, is embroiled in a scandal, Lizzie is dealing with sexual harassment in the workplace, and Nick Harris, the assistant state attorney working with her on fraud cases, and her sister’s college BF, has become the station’s newest heartthrob. When a catastrophic hurricane hits South Florida, Lizzie digs deep to find her center and learns she’s Nick’s star attraction.

I really enjoyed this sweet and funny story about Lizzie and Nick. The author paints a vivid picture of life in Miami through the neighborhoods and landmarks, but it’s the characters that truly come to live. Nick and Lizzie fall in love almost immediately but the cloud hanging over them is the fact that he casually dated her sister in college. Lizzie is working through the relationship with Nick while dodging lecherous producers and juggling office politics even as she spearheads an important new project.

Life isn’t simple for this couple but they’re strong and determined. They’re surrounded by a fun supporting cast and there’s just the right balance between the romance and the subplots. This is a wonderful story and left me wanting more of this world. I received a copy of Falling For Miami from the author in exchange for an honest review.
