Review: Finn by Melanie Moreland

His Power Rules the City—But She Rules His Heart.

Finn O’Reilly
Finn O’Reilly Stern, powerful, confident. Oversees his hotel and his syndicate with a commanding presence and leadership, knowing any weakness could be used against him.
And he has none. Except Una Murphy. The woman he lost his heart to and still loves, even though she wants nothing to do with him.
Or so she claims.
When her life is in peril, he won’t stop until she is safe and back where she belongs—with him.
Can he rescue her?
Convince her to stay?
Will she be a part of his world, regardless of the danger, knowing she is safer with him than apart?
She is his world.
He simply needs to convince her.

This is a second chance mafia romance but also so much more. Finn and Una had an instant connection the moment they met, but she was ten years younger and had just turned eighteen. Besides, her father is one of his most loyal soldiers. The man took a bullet for him so lusting after his teenage daughter certainly isn’t the way to repay him. It’s so much more than lust though and Finn knows it, but his life is too dangerous, too hard. Una deserves better so he keeps his distance, loving her from afar while making sure she wants for nothing, even if he can never have her. Until he decides he won’t maintain the distance any longer. Una is his and he’s going to prove it to her.

Una misses Finn and everything they shared, but she knows she’s a liability, just another weakness to be exploited by his enemies. He has many, being such a powerful man so it’s happened before, but she won’t let it happen again. She will never again allow Finn to risk his life just to have her at his side. If something happened to him, she would never forgive herself. It’s better to love him from afar and know he’s still alive, or so she tells herself.

But Finn is done waiting for her to see the light and now he’s determined to show her that this is happening, that they are happening. This is an emotional second chance romance with a great balance of angst, heat and suspense and I loved everything about it, especially the characters. I was wondering when Niall’s lady would finally be introduced and now I can’t wait for their book. I’d like to thank the author and The Author Agency for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
