He’ll protect his best friend’s baby sister from anything…other than himself.
Rhyland
Dylan Casablancas is a forbidden fruit,
Undeniably delicious, but one bite just might kill you.
She’s my best friend’s baby sister, a single mom, and a royal pain in the ass.
When Little Miss Baggage moves downstairs to house-sit her brother’s Manhattan apartment, my potential business partner mistakes us as a couple.
He wants a family guy.
I want access to his billions.
And Dylan?
She needs a big, burly guy to scare off her loser ex.
Pretending to be engaged to the feisty girl next door gets messy when I take a bite of the illicit apple.
What can I say? I’m an instant gratification kind of guy.
We made a deal to walk out of each other’s lives once my contract is signed.
The only problem?
She might take my heart with her when she leaves.
Dylan
Rhyland Coltridge is out of the question.
Unless the answer is: “Who’s the biggest man-whore you’ve ever met?”
Hedonistic. Wild card. Utterly corrupt.
And those are just the traits the jerk prides himself on.
My life is too messy for a boyfriend. Even if it wasn’t, Rhyland would be the last man I’d consider.
He is supposed to be my ticket out of this nightmare.
But he’s fast becoming my wildest, most dangerous dream.
Dylan and Rhy were everything I wanted, all snarky banter and teasing, and I was there for every minute. They’re not exactly fans of one another, but his proposal for a fake engagement isn’t as crazy as it sounds. Things are tough and they both have needs the other can easily fulfill, so it’s hard to argue with Rhy’s reasoning, no matter how loathsome the idea.
Despite the free luxury apartment and stipend for ‘housesitting’, the city is expensive, so Dylan has to work, which means she needs childcare. She’ll have peace of mind with Rhyland watching Gravity while she works, even if the man is pathetic around children. Plus, he needs to charm this potential investor so he will pay her a small fortune to be his fake fiancée, so she can’t reasonably turn him down.
Being a parent is tough and being a single mom is even tougher in some ways. Dylan’s life is particularly challenging since her ex is a complete deadbeat who’s never even met his daughter. This story includes the bad with the good for a pretty realistic portrayal, which made me love the characters even more for the way they handled all the curve balls. These two are steamy but sweet and there’s a great twist towards the end, I just loved everything about it. Can’t wait for Tate and Gia’s book. I’d like to thank the author for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
