In my defense, I had no idea the tattooed, glasses-wearing, soulful hottie I spent one perfect day—and one unforgettable night—with was a hockey star on my father’s team.
And Miles didn’t know I was the coach’s daughter.
That’s the point of a “no-work-talk” date.
But now? He’s as forbidden to me as I am to him.
When I land a new gig as the team photographer, we vow to keep it professional. We mostly succeed…except for that time after a game when he couldn’t keep his talented hands off me. But I swear, it won’t happen again.
Too much is at stake—I can’t risk my heart or my father’s team.
But when I end up living at Miles’s place to care for his pack of rescue pups, the lines blur fast. Late nights turn into stolen moments, and I discover there’s more to him than I ever imagined—a man who’s genuine, thoughtful, and irresistibly real.
He looks at me like he can’t believe his luck. Touches me like he never wants to let go. And listens to my hopes and fears.
My heart’s getting dangerously attached. But if I follow it… am I putting everyone’s dreams on the line?
Leighton and Miles have an adorable meet cute and the best first date ever, so good that they can’t believe it’s real but then it becomes all too real when they realize she’s his coach’s daughter. Some things are always off-limits, and the coach’s daughter is high on the list. Hockey players are number one on the list for Leighton, as far as her father is concerned. Things got really rough for Miles after an injury interrupted his career and coach was the one person who believed in him and gave Miles a second chance when nobody else would, so he owes his career to the man. Leighton won’t let Miles gamble his career on a fling, so they agree to keep their distance from one another, and they keep that promise, at first.
They’re thrown together increasingly more once she starts working for the team and continue to grow closer, despite their best efforts to stay away. Leighton is young and independent, but her father means the world to her, and she hates keeping secrets from him, especially one this big. But she’s not sure how he’ll react to the news, and she worries he’ll punish Miles, so they hide their relationship.
I loved Leighton and Miles and couldn’t get enough of their story. It was funny and sweet with some spice and a bit of angst, and I loved everything about it. The whole series has been great, but I do think Miles is my favorite Sea Dog so far. There’s also a fun supporting cast of her friends and his teammates, some very crazy roommates and a meddling granny, so lots to love here. If you like swoony hockey players and feisty heroines, this one is for you. I’d like to thank the author and Good Girls PR for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
