Review: Buried Dreams by Natasha Madison

Montgavin Township will never be the same when one night changes the lives of six people.

The course of their lives and the trajectory of the town sets them on a collision course for disaster.

Everleigh
One night changed my whole life.
After the truth about that night came out, I knew I had to leave.
Taking my broken heart with me.
I had no choice but to go back.
I knew it would slice me back open again.
But sometimes, the root of the flower you planted starts to grow again, no matter how many times you’ve cut them down.
He was my everything, and then he was my nothing.

Brock
My father taught me honor and integrity.
And in one split second, I ruined it all.
I lost everything I ever wanted.
But I had no choice.
I tried to go on with my life.
And the only good thing I had was my daughter.
Never expected to see the one woman who I’d loved and lost here again.
They say time heals old wounds.
They were wrong.
It just splits you open, making you bleed out.
I just have to survive again.

Everleigh and Brock had the kind of love that most people only dreamed about finding, but they didn’t realize how fragile it was until it was too late. He thought he was protecting her, but she saw it as being shut out and walked out of his life for good. It’s been nine long years since she left but they haven’t moved on. Brock is a single dad with a bitter baby mama and a life he didn’t choose for himself, but his daughter is the only bright spot he’s had since his life fell apart.

Unlike Brock, Everleigh has never even tried to move on. She’s successful in her career but with no friends to speak of work is her life. She didn’t realize how lonely she was in the city until she went home to take care of her mother. Being back in the town where she grew up, surrounded by familiar faces and welcomed with open arms, Everleigh is stunned at how much she’s enjoying her visit. Except for running into Brock, who absolutely loathes her even though he’s the one who threw their relationship away. He never even had the decency to give her an explanation for it.

They do their best to ignore each other but the attraction between them is even more intense than it was before. Everleigh reconnects with the friends she cut out of her life back then and realizes immediately that she made a mistake by staying away for years. I couldn’t put this one down, it kept me turning pages. I’d like to thank the author and The Author Agency for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
