Mini Reviews

When I really like a book, I usually post a review on retail sites and Goodreads. Reviews are critical for authors and often help me decide what to read next, so I appreciate them as a reader, too. But I read a lot of books, too many to review them all and when things are really hectic, I’ve got to keep it short. Rolé over at Hooked By That Book inspired me with her Quickie Reviews feature, so I present more mini reviews.

This is a sweet and funny story about the single dad who falls in love with the nanny, but his helicopter mom drives her away. Yes, she took the money she was offered to stay away from him, but she has a very good reason. This is a bit of emotional rollercoaster but in the best possible way and I loved everything about it.

Neither gargoyles nor reverse harem are favorite tropes, but I couldn’t put this one down and loved every minute of it. Jade’s life is a complete dumpster fire since she’s stuck living with her cheating ex and he’s an awful person. She can’t believe her luck when she finds out she’s inherited a manor. The old gothic buildings are full of gargoyles and Jade has no idea what she’s in for but she’s there for it. This story was fun, although the ending was rushed and cruelly abrupt.

This gives an enemies-to-lovers vibe since they used to be close then he ghosted her so now Abby can’t stand Ryder. She’s especially annoyed living so close to the football house and mostly avoids the place but when someone leaves a baby there, she jumps right in to help. After all, her brother lives there so that the baby may be family and these guys are in no position to care for a child. These two were sweet together + I loved their story.

Paranormal/shifter romance isn’t normally my thing but this book was short, sweet, steamy and just a great read. I loved Scarlet and Lucas from the beginning, so it was to see them fall. Great characters made for a great story.
