I read a lot of books, too many to review them all, but I always leave at least a short review/rating on retail sites and Goodreads when I’ve enjoyed a book. Those are critical for authors that I would feel terrible for skipping it. They’re not detailed enough to post on their own, but Rolé over at Hooked By That Book inspired me with her Quickie Reviews feature, so I’m sharing some here for the first time.
This story was fun to read and I really liked the characters. Reagan and Adam have never gotten along so when she drops her ex’s stuff off at Adam’s house, they find reasons to bicker, as always. Except she’s no longer his best friend’s girl so as their tempers heat up, so does the attraction and they have a fabulous night together. She doesn’t expect to ever see him again, but fate has different plans when she ends up being the lawyer for the orphan who was left in Adam’s care. The more time they spend together, the closer they get but there’s a grieving kid and her ex between them, not to mention their own baggage. I enjoyed seeing them navigate the obstacles and get their HEA.

This book is so witty and made me LOL. I really enjoyed these characters and the way their story unfolded. I have a love/hate relationship with the accidental pregnancy trope because it often comes with too much drama for my tastes, but this one is different. These characters surprised me more than once which just endeared me to them even more. This author is new to me but I’ll be jumping on that backlist.

Crescent Cove book 12

This one-night stand turned fake relationship starts out steamy and fun. Grace is drinking away her sorrows and wants to be someone else for the night when she meets Sebastian. He’s a drop-dead gorgeous dream lover but he’s also her boss’ boss’ boss, which is probably frowned upon at her new job, so she runs off the next morning before he wakes. It takes some work, but he tracks her down when he needs a fake girlfriend. Nope, nobody else will do. They have chemistry but his impulsive decisions keep embarrassing her. [at the end, she became annoying + the thing that blew them up was so lame but decent up to that point and eventual HEA].

Love In Short series book 2
Published 2020

This book was entertaining enough at the time, but I waited almost a week to write the review and had to skim the book again to remember a few things, which doesn’t happen with a great story. That tells me these characters and their story are generic and forgettable.
I love the premise of ex’s hotter older brother + I enjoyed it while reading it, but once I put the book down, it was forgotten. I wanted to like this more since it’s a series so I’ll probably read the next book and maybe it will grab me more.
