Review: Rumour Has It by Naaz Spencer

Aiden

I fell in love with my best friend and then broke her heart when we were nineteen.

Tiffany Harrington refuses to have anything to do with me outside of work.

She’s spent years cleaning up my playboy image, but all I want is her.

Tiffy refuses to give me another chance, no matter how much I beg. And I’m not above begging.

But life just threw us a devastating curveball and I’ll be by her side even if she pushes me away.

I’d do anything for that woman because she is my world.

Even if she doesn’t realise it yet.

Tiffany

Aiden Sinclair is a liability, but when he gets too close, I lose all sense.

He’s been my weakness ever since we were kids. But we are the past and I’m only concerned about my future.

I won’t let him shatter my heart a second time.

Or that was the plan.

When Mum is diagnosed with cancer, Aiden’s the person I run to.

The only one who can help me is him.

Behind the playboy is still the man I love, and I don’t know how much longer I can refuse to acknowledge it.

Because time is a precious thing.

Tiffy and Aiden are lifelong friends. They grew up together sharing everything and eventually got together in high school. He was the love of her life but after just one semester at different colleges, Aiden decided that a long-distance relationship was cheating him out of the full college experience, so he broke up with Tiffy. She was devastated and didn’t speak to him for three years. They now have a fragile truce and work together as she handles his PR, but things are never quite right between them. There are stolen kisses and lines crossed from time to time, but nothing more.

Aiden knows he made the biggest mistake of his life when he broke it off. It was a bad decision and one that haunts him every day. He’s done all he can to win back her trust but when she’s still not willing to give him another chance, Aiden decides to leave London for New York and a fresh start. Tiffy wants to try again, but he hurt her so much the first time, she won’t get through it if he ends them again. She has to protect her heart and hide her pain. But when she learns he’s moving across the Atlantic, she’s forced to reconsider.

When Tiffy’s world starts to fall apart, Aiden is there to hold her up, until their differences come between them yet again. Their story is sweet but full of angst and pain due to Tiffy’s family issues. Aiden goes above and beyond to show his love and care for her, but love isn’t always enough. I received an ARC from Grey’s Promotions in exchange for an honest review.
