A gorgeous rock star. An indecent proposal. How can a girl resist?
Struggling barista Katie Bloom doesn’t even know who Jesse Mayes is until she inadvertently wins the coveted role of his hot new girlfriend in his latest music video.
But by the time she’s in bed with him, she knows his reputation.
Love maker.
Heartbreaker.
Making out with a stranger in front of a camera crew isn’t how Katie imagined herself getting over a broken heart, but when Jesse touches her, sparks fly.
It’s supposed to be fake but the chemistry is real, and before long, the steamy video is blazing up the charts.
Then Jesse makes Katie a tantalizing offer: act as his girlfriend for six weeks while he promotes his new album.
The only catch? Their sizzling make-out sessions will be for the cameras only.
That suits Katie just fine, since she’s not about to trust her heart to rock’s most legendary lover.
Her body, though? Maybe.
As it turns out, pretending to fall in love is incredibly sexy…
And falling in love for real, with a man she promised not to fall for?
Irresistible.
I love a good fake relationship but so many rock star stories fall flat, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’m so glad I gave this a chance because I absolutely loved Katie and Jesse so much. She’s an average girl who catches the eye of a rock star who requests Katie to star in his new video via her talent manager bestie. Katie reluctantly takes the job, despite the fact that she isn’t an actress or model, but the money is just too good to pass up. It’s just one video, it can’t be that bad, she reasons.
But then Jesse and Katie have fiery chemistry and the fans go crazy for the phony couple. This kind of press is what will make his first solo album a success so Jesse hires Katie to go on tour as his fake girlfriend. They’re fire together but Katie struggles as she falls for Jesse, sure that this can’t possibly be real. He tries to make her see but Katie pulls away and runs, more than once. There’s a lot of angst here but the ending is so very worth it. My one criticism is that I love a good epilogue, but instead of showing us a future Katie or Jesse, it’s all about a minor character. That’s not an epilogue, it’s a preview of the next book, which is very disappointing. The writing is good, the characters are great and it’s an interesting story but instead of getting that cherry on top at the end, we get a lame sales pitch for another book. Authors might think that sells

Authors might think that sells books, but it usually guarantees I won’t read the next one. True epilogues are important and if readers don’t see the HEA, we may not come back for more.
