He told me to settle.
He asked what was wrong with me.
He called me an easy target.
That was within minutes when I first met Caden Banks.
I labeled him an *sshole, but he was more than that. Arrogant. Smug. Alpha.
He was also to-die-for gorgeous, and my stepbrother’s fraternity brother.
Okay, yes I was a little naive, a tad bit socially awkward, and the smallest amount of stalker-ish, but if Caden Banks thought he could tell me what to do, he had another thing coming.
I came to college with daydreams about being with my stepbrother, but what if I fell for the anti-stepbrother instead?
I love Tijan and this is one of my absolute favorites from her. Caden Banks is the ultimate book boyfriend and if you haven’t read this, stop what you’re doing and go read it. Read it right now. Summer is naïve, quirky and a little bit lost when she follows her stepbrother to college, hoping they’ll get together. She realizes pretty quickly that he’s a complete asshat, although she really should’ve known that already but naïve. She forms an unlikely friendship with broody loner Caden, to everyone’s surprise, including Caden himself. He’s the campus hottie all the girls want, drop-dead gorgeous and effortlessly cool, he manages to be charming despite his surliness.
Summer drew me in right away and it was fun watching them get to know one another but I especially loved watching Caden realize he was falling for her. Summer comes into her own in college, becoming independent and making new friends with Caden by her side. Then one day, she wakes up and realizes she’s falling for him, but can’t imagine he’d ever feel the same. I love everything about these characters and their story. I’ve read it more than once and will surely read it again because it’s just a great story with wonderful characters.
