Everything I thought I knew has been a lie.
Bishop, Wells, Ronan, and Abel no longer believe the worst about me,
And my nights are filled with love from each of them.
But my heart is broken in four pieces,
And I don’t even think they can put it back together.
I’m constantly looking over my shoulder…
Unsure of where to turn or who to believe.
All I know is that I’ve never felt more alone.
Lover is the third book in the Loxley Prep reverse harem series.
The wait was painful after the cliffhanger in Thief so I couldn’t wait to get my grubby little paws on this one. I’m sad for this series to end but I enjoyed the way it ended. We watch Lennon open up more to the guys and start to trust them again, then we see the relationship deepen. The Valiant has done a lot of amazing work over the years but there’s still so much more to do because nobody’s been held accountable. But Lennon still has a lot to learn. She knows a lot of the horrible things her father did so she doesn’t think it can get any worse, but it does. It’s tough to wrap her head around her father being pure evil but he’s worse than she ever imagined.
Lennon knows she can’t trust anyone, yet she still underestimated the danger lurking at every turn. The final volume cranks up the suspense but it’s so worth it to see the mystery unravel. The last few scenes felt just a tiny bit rushed to me, but that’s a personal preference for more detail with the criminal/suspense aspect. The important things is that didn’t detract from the story, which is all that really matters. This series was an instant favorite so I’m going to miss it, but this ending is perfect for Lennon and the guys. I received an ARC from Valentine PR in exchange for an honest review.
