Review: Blind Date by Monica Murphy

Amelia has a little black cloud over her head and nothing in her life is going right. She’s bored with her job but has no passion for any other career. She’s still angry at her manipulative ex and her mood is so black that customers are complaining about her to the boss. There’s not a bright spot in her world until she meets Isaac. Amelia refuses the blind date at first because she doesn’t want to be set up and especially not at her best friend’s wedding but she gives in eventually and boy is she glad she did.

Isaac will make you swoon with his wit and charm. He’s funny and sweet and generous with the compliments. He makes her happy in a way she’s never been before. Everything is better with him in her life so Amelia’s smiles and good cheer shock everyone around her. Even that job she thought she hated in the family business? Turns out she actually enjoys working at the jewelry store when everything else in her life isn’t awful. Who knew?

But she was with her ex for a while and they’ve only been broken up for a few months so she’s worried that it’s too soon and they’re moving too fast. After all, Isaac’s supposed to be her rebound but he’s already so much more. Amelia’s not ready to risk a broken heart but she can’t imagine letting him go either. I love the characters and was immersed in this story, waiting to see what happens next. Their story is sweet and funny, a holiday romance with just enough angst and the right amount of steam. Monica Murphy is quickly becoming a favorite with every book of hers I read and this one is no different. I received an ARC of Blind Date from Valentine PR in exchange for an honest review.

New Release from Monica Murphy Blind Date

Amelia Lee is in desperate need of a change.

Finally free from her controlling ex-boyfriend, she’s not looking to date someone new, even though all of her friends are encouraging her to do exactly that. One in particular believes she’s found the perfect guy for Amelia. So she sets her up on a blind date.

At a wedding.

Amelia has no idea the guy she bumped into at her friend’s Christmas tree farm is the same one she’s been set up with at a wedding reception. Isaac Jones is a nice guy. A good looking guy. A much younger guy. No way could they be compatible – they have nothing in common.

The more time Amelia spends with Isaac though, the more she realizes he just might be perfect for her. He makes her laugh. He’s a complete gentleman. And they’re definitely compatible between the sheets…

But is he only the rebound guy? Or can they actually make this newfound romance work?
