Nikki and Henry’s dangerous love story
I no longer believe in fairytales…nor second chances.
I met a boy once.
He was sweet and kind.
He was the boy billionaire who lived in the mansion on the edge of town.
The townspeople called him the Prince of Paradise.
The summer after my parents’ tragic accident, my sister and I went to work for his family as the help.
But then tragedy struck again. His father was murdered, and my older sister took the fall for it.
Fifteen years have passed. Now I’m back to make good on my promise to my sister and prove her innocence. I’m no longer the naive girl who was too afraid to stay and fight for my family.
I’m Nikki Swift, a con-artist. What’s my specialty? Spoiled billionaires.
I prepared for everything, except him…the Prince of Paradise.
This story had a little of everything and I’m here for it. Nikki and Henry were everything to one another a lifetime ago but that was before his father was murdered and her sister was set up to take the fall. It started off with an enemies to lovers vibe because they both think the other stood them up, cut communication and essentially cut them from their life. It was a complicated situation, and they were so young, nobody handled it well.
After years apart, life brings them together again in a big way so it seems like fate, but unfortunately, all the same obstacles still exist for the couple. Nikki has returned to her hometown to clear her sister’s name. Lisa doesn’t want her freedom so much as she wants to be exonerated for this grisly murder she didn’t commit. Henry is here to claim his rightful inheritance, now that he knows his uncle swindled it out from under him when his father died. Henry has come to realize that his uncle may be capable of just about anything, so when Nikki tells him Lisa was framed, it’s not the first time he wonders if his uncle was involved in his father’s death.
Their story is a sweet reunion wrapped in a mystery with the perfect blend of danger and heat, I could not put it down. And while this is a standalone (for now), the ending gave a perfect opening for a second story in this series, and I would one-click it in a heartbeat. I’d like to thank the author for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
