I’ve lived two lives.
One full of innocence and one full of sin.
Now revenge, mayhem, and loss are all I know.
I wandered through the darkness until I found a new place to call home.
Today I’m Satan’s deadliest soldier.
A former nomad, tormented by his demons and heavy with regret.
A man coming face-to-face with the biggest failure of his life.
Her.
The girl I let go.
The woman I’ll ruin if I stay.
Celeste and Cobra’s story is tragic and heartbreaking, full of unanswered questions, regrets and what-ifs. They were friends as kids and fell in love as teenagers but when tragedy struck without warning, their idyllic world shattered beyond repair. Violence and loss changed everything, then he just left. Fate brings them together again years later, but Cobra has changed. He lives for revenge and that life doesn’t allow room for happiness. Celeste never stopped loving him and deserves answers, so we get all the details, and the history is dark.
Their story is an emotional rollercoaster that will break your heart more than once but put it back together eventually while also making you laugh when you least expect it. The characters are gritty and flawed and real, and I loved them so much.
There’s a lot of action to temper all the emotion plus plenty of humor and heat throughout for a great balance. The is my first book by the author but certainly won’t be the last.
