Stella Rhys always give us the most amazing characters, I really can’t get enough of her writing. I’ve read every book she’s written more than once because they are always THAT good and this is one of her best. AJ loves her job as an assistant to sports agent Adam and he couldn’t ask for a better right-hand woman. They work seamlessly together as a force to be reckoned with in the sports world and they’ve become great friends over the years. Sure, he’s hot as Hades but she’s never thought of Adam as anything other than her boss and a friend, until she did.
After five long years, things change in an instant and turn their whole world inside out. When AJ catches her fiancé cheating, she wants to hit him where it hurts and he’s always been insecure where Adam is concerned so she goes right for the jugular, using Adam to make him jealous. She never expected to light a spark between them but once Adam steps in to put her ex in his place, everything changes between them instantly.
Now they can’t keep their hands off of one another and they’re both falling fast. AJ doesn’t see any future with her playboy boss so she’s desperate to guard her heart, even as Adam struggles to come to terms with his need for this woman. They both have secrets and pasts and a relationship could put her career on the line but this thing between them can’t be ignored. Their story is an emotional rollercoaster with one of my favorite HEAs ever and I loved everything about it. The banter, the heat, all of the sweetness, these two bring it all and the author’s writing style is also one of my absolute faves. It’s so realistic and raw, giving you all the feels in the best possible way. I couldn’t find a flaw here if I had to because these characters and their story are perfect in every way.
