I’ve been re-reading old favorites lately because things have been too hectic to get much writing done. Reading them again makes me want to shout from the rooftops to let everyone know what a great book it is, so this is my way of getting the word out.
Today I chose Blood To Dust by LJ Shen. It’s one of my favorite books and one of the very first romances I ever read so it holds a special place in my heart for multiple reasons. I love Prescott Burlington-Smyth because she’s one badass chick. She’s survived things most people can’t even imagine and never gives up. Nate Vela hasn’t had an easy life either, but his troubles sent him to prison. Now he’s free again but he’s not doing himself any favors with the company he’s keeping.
Prescott’s being held hostage and Nate’s one of her jailers, until he’s not. They form an alliance to save them both but end up getting much more than they bargained for right from the start. Their story is gritty and tragic and dark and so unbelievably good. I love this cover and everything about this story but especially these amazing characters.
