Summer Storm

When the sky darkens in the day
And blackest clouds take hold
Ominous and threatening
Hot air but drops so cold

Outrageous roars will fill the world
And booming cracks split ears
Windows rattle, buildings shake
Hot rage draws ever near

Rising winds make the whole world swirl
Even the mightiest trees can bend
Leaves are stripped and branches pierce
And frightful messages they send

The strobing pierces everything
Iridescent streaks
Laser bolts that cleave the black
And make the timid shriek

Through rising waters, danger comes
And nothing will be safe
The murky depths just stealing
All within its wake
