Something II

I feel it now, so sudden and sad
Remembering now just how I wished and wanted and did know
Expecting eventually, we’d put it all back together
Until stumbling upon an unexpected cache
Of deceit and troubles, sweet and true
All along, you cheated them, lying all the way

I blame you not, I pity you, for those truths which remain untold
How you'd drive them all to hate themselves and deny their very souls
I can not know what life is like, can’t imagine the depth of the pain
And blame you still for drawing them in, making them part of your game

They miss you and love you and hate you all the same
For how you tortured others and lived so high, basking in your shame
You've laid waste to all that is pure and true
Killing them all and nurturing only you
